Click Swing
I’ve been sick as a dog for the past week or two and haven’t posted anything, so I’m going to let my old buddy Pat teach this one.
Check out how he uses the metronome – so simple but so effective!
Just set the click so it hits on 2 and 4 instead of the usual straight 1/4 notes. Who ever thought you could swing so hard with a click track? Sure, it’s an old trick for the jazz veterans out there, but even for blues, country (train beat, texas swing, etc…) It’s a great way to spice up the old metronome practice session.
I’ll throw some clips of different styles up soon, but for right now, let Pat lead the way:

Really nice and inspiring on how to use a boring click in a creative way !

Yeah it works pretty well in cut time for train-beat country-type stuff too.
