Thanks for stopping by! In case you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m John McNiel, from Richmond VA.

I have been playing guitar for 25 years or so, professionally and not so professionally, I taught for many years and played in bands all of that time. I’ve had the opportunity to play with or share the stage with a lot of very talented musicians, famous and not famous, many of which I am fortunate to have grown up with…must be something in the water around here!

I am currently playing with the band Marna & Macy

I like all sorts of music, my tastes pretty much run the gamut, as long as it’s good, I like it. Most of my gigging is either country, rock or some sort of fusion.

My favorite thing has always been to learn new stuff, and the longer I play the more I find to learn.
